About our crawler
If you found this page, our scanner visited your website. This is what it is and how to stop it.
What it is
Accessibility Conformance runs automated accessibility checks (WCAG 2.2) on websites. A scan only happens when someone asks for one, either through the free scan form on our home page or from a signed-in account. It reads public pages the same way a visitor's browser would, and it does not log in, submit forms, or change anything.
How it identifies itself
Requests carry this User-Agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; AccessibilityConformanceBot/1.0; +https://accessibilityconformance.com/crawler)
How polite it is
- It reads your robots.txt first and follows it.
- It starts no more than one new page per second and has at most two pages loading at a time.
- Free scans are limited to 25 pages; paid plans are capped at their plan's page limit.
- It never scans addresses on private or internal networks.
How to block it
Add this to your robots.txt and the scanner will not visit your pages:
User-agent: AccessibilityConformanceBot Disallow: /
You can also block only part of your site by listing specific paths under Disallow.
